It is amazing how the hopes of a soccer nation can depend entirely on how 12 people decide to kick a ball – 11 players and their coach. Is it fair to thrust the hopes and aspirations of millions of people on 12 shoulders?

And it came to pass that there was this great king. He was on a journey to a far, far place. He called forth his three servants. To the first he gave five talents; to the second three; and to the third he gave three talents. He asked the servants to “take good care of his talents” until he came back.

A lot of times we wait on money instead of waiting on God. A business owner can fall into the trap of leaning on his debtors’ list, and making great plans based on their word that they are going to pay.

In the last couple of weeks, two events shaped my thoughts for this article. Michael Jackson of the Thriller album fame passed on in circumstances that are yet to be fully explained to the satisfaction of the vast majority of his fans.

Life is a journey, and money is the vessel, goes the adage. Therefore, where does life lead us to if it is only a journey? What position do you occupy in this vessel?
