Pathfinder International (PI) seeks a Country Representative to coordinate, manage and increase visability and funding for Pathfinder International programs in Kenya.The Country Representative prominently positions PI as a leader in the field of reproductive health and as a successful partner in the development and cost effective implementation of programs. S/he works closely with PI’s in-country and Headquarters staff to conceptualize and plan program development activities, diversify funding resources, and build on country and international best practices. The Country Representative also provides strategic leadership and managerial oversight of the administrative, programmatic, technical, financial and operational aspects of Pathfinder International’s Kenya Program. S/he ensures that program objectives are met, all activities are responsive to the needs of the host country, and the program continues to advance and play a key role in contributing to Pathfinder International’s development within Kenya.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Pathfinder International’s Kenya program activities include the USAID-funded AIDS, Population and Health Integrated Assistance Projects (APHIA II) in Nairobi, Central and North Eastern Proinvces, as well as the CDC-funded Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission Project in Nairobi and Eastern Provinces. . Pathfinder-led projects in Kenya currently support more than 20,000 ART clients, 20,000 home-based care clients and close to 50,000 orphans and vulnerable children. They reach nearly 175,000 women each year with HIV counseling and testing in PMTCT and hundreds of thousands of persons each quarter with prevention messages.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE: Master’s degree in public health, social sciences or related field; minimum of 5 years of experience managing mid-large scale reproductive health programs in developing and transitioning countries; proven record of successful fundraising from diverse public and private sources, strong business development expertise, including proposal writing and negotiation skills; demonstrated experience in successfully fulfilling performance objectives, including the timely implementation and reporting of donor-funded program activities; and willingness and ability to travel in-country up to 25% time and occasionally to the US Headquarters depending upon project needs.
