Kenya is bigger than Ngunyi’s family

From Mutahi Ngunyi’s last piece, it is easy to tell why he takes Kenya for granted. By his own assertion; Kenya is Ngunyi, his woman and children! He then caps it all that the rest is “a detail” not even details! That is telling.
Mr. Ngunyi, there is a word for you. President Mwai Kibaki is not setting up anybody, never had, and neither will. The best Kibaki can do is hang onto the benefits of political treachery, stark deceit and political idiocy. That you write as if this individual has any legacy, to append to 10 wanted years in Kenya’s politics is shocking. Former President Daniel Moi could be forgiven for flaws in his regime, because the only promise he made to Kenyans, was to “fuata Nyayo”, which he did to the hilt. If this is the gauge for a legacy, he left some Nyayo.
Nyayoism is indeed still with us today, and Kibaki is the exemplification of that legacy. The problem is that he promised us to right all wrongs associated with Moi, prime of which was corruption, and then to deliver in 100 days, a new constitution. If idiocy is too strong an assessment, tell us what better business Kibaki’s regime has done, if not perpetuate corruption, shield corrupt leaders, and in every way renege on all he promised, by stealing an election in broad daylight, getting himself sworn in by nightfall; before poll results are announced, and shamelessly sleeping on the job
.
This President is not only an avowed fence sitter, but also a political opportunist of the highest order, a turn coat and master of indifference to the plight of Kenyans.
Kenyans have wasted so much money in supporting a bloated illegitimate government, and they will do it again, if as you are already privy; Kibaki finds reason to use another term at the helm. If you were the patriot you made us believe you were some time ago, you would make it crystal clear who is rigging 2012 in 2010. You already have the results! And you can be trusted in this, you are PNU and Kibaki apologist and strategist. You have a mind and sight only for Kibaki and cahoots.
Recent happenings in cabinet prove the Prime Minister right. He has not only shown he can roar, but can bite as well. So what will you tell us next week? This is it; – the Prime Minister has shot himself in the foot. Nay, and far from it, he had added another feather to his cap. He has made the world know who the patron of corruption in Kenya is. Do not be tempted to cheat on this. The ball is squarely in State House and the occupant is known to all of us.
Lest you forget, every time you struggle to discredit reform-minded politicians, you remind us of the wing of government that is refuge for anti-reform moguls. Spare this country the pokes and scabs, arising from your reminding us of stark details of our quagmire.
Next time you pen your demagoguery, remind your ardent disciples and benefactors that even if they rig the next election, one day they will pay for it. Kenyans are enlightened enough to discern mediocrity, incapacitation and outright idiocy; where for instance, adding zeros to figures in the very august house, is attributed to typing error, by people who never get disparaged by your column. Are you on a mission? I hope you are not, but fear you are.
Next time you address the Prime Minister- which you just cannot avoid, ask him to resign, ask him to accept that he is not relevant in this sham government. Advise him to accept that he is the outsider crying more than the bereaved. Remember to tell him that it will be good for Kenya when he later promises them to do what he has tried in vain. The funeral is someone else’s, not his;- why weep?

CLEARING THE AIR
KENYAN TRANSGENDER ACTIVIST KHRC

When emotive people lack substance in their arguments, they tend to go personnal. Mr. Chiteri here is a good example. What has Ngunyi family got to do with his opinion. Why are you so furious when Raila is mentioned and he is just reaping the benefits of political treachery, stark deceit and political idiocy??? Remember him rounding tribal chiefs and thieves to form a pentagoon?? He even appointed crooks to important ministries against the wishes of Kenyans. What makes a lawyer who has been suspended by LSK for life for stealing clients the most qualified person to handle immigration office?? Kajwang is looting as we talk. What about Ruto, Ntimama, Fred Gumo, Sally Kosgey, Dalmas Otieno, Henry Kosgey, Ngilu of the HIV funds…etc…?? Did their association with Raila when he was desperate for votes cleanse their appetite for dipping their fingers into the public coffers??? Raila went into a marriage of convenience with crooks, he is harvesting the obvious. And he called those who resisted his charm Kabila Adui leading to PEV.
You can bury your head in the sand Mr. Chiteri, but not all Kenyans are that gullible. We see where you are coming from!!!!
Finally, is your tired demagoguery Mr. Chiteri that of your women and children????
Emkei
Emkei, betrays intellectual laziness. What is personal in Chiteri’s writing. Mutahi Ngunyi, in his article of Sunday 14/2/2010, said that Kenya; is him, his woman, and his children. That is stupid and limiting. For you to engage in senseless tirade, without the benefit of source documents, enlists you as the emotional one. The issue here is Raila’s actions and Kibaki’s actions. Do not try to drag the entire party into this debate with the hope that some people will embrace the same mediocrity and end up dragging the entire cabinet here. Chiteri in no way insinuated, not even implied that Kenya is his woman and children. Go back to Ngunyi’s article and tell us if he is misquoted. Here is Ngunyi’s language in the refrenced article “…….. Kenya is me, my woman and my children. Period.” And that is not the first time. Look at this one of Jun 14, 2009 “……I Mutahi Ngunyi, originally … To preserve my woman and my children”. Please take note that it is Ngunyi who brought his woman and children along, and as he uses them to make a paycheck, the world shall keep them active in any discourse involving him – and that is fairplay.
Erconom
Uchumu, after reading your long narrative, it’s clear that you want to engage in sideshows with the hope that they will cloud the real issues. Thats typical of our political class and their hawks…you are engaging the wrong party here.
Here is the real issue, i will paste it for you:
Now are you man enough to address these issues??
My point was to expalain how Ngunyi’s woman and children came into play because you asked. Trying to imply that Raila appointed demons as though your toad-eyed Kibaki serves with angels, is stupid. Moreover, I will not discuss your issues, I will discuss stuff raised in the article. Kukufuata ujingani will not make me man enough, it will make stupid enough. Catch me dead on that one.
The proverbial ostrich with its head sunk deep into the ground while the bush fire closes in is well illustrated by one uchumi (just like his handle, seems he is very economical with the truth).
Kenyans have spoken, Raila should walk the talk and step down. His dogs can continue to bark as their master is dragged to court.
